Welcome home. Take a look around.
Alumna Emily Price said it best on our Facebook group page: the UCM is…
“For everyone who’s ever eaten at; lived in; slept over at; climbed on; organized at; organized against; attended an event at; attended a meeting at; led a meeting at; sat on the porch and smoked in front of; made an announcement, a plea, or a stump speech at; worshipped in; worshipped in hopes of saving; given money to; accepted resources from; played music in; donated food, clothes, couches, or tables to; tried in vain to clean up; created posters, banners, and collages at; tabled in front of; visited more than 5 times a week; or just plain loved, hated, rejoiced in or reviled that place like no other place in Tulsa, OK…. the United Campus Ministry at TU.”
For over forty years, the UCM has been home to students, faculty and staff at The University of Tulsa. We’ve had half a dozen names, but always lived in the Little Blue House, which has provided a safe, welcoming, affirming space for people of literally all stripes, philosophies and world views. What unites us is our common vision for social justice: the idea that everyone deserves the same rights and freedoms and should be empowered to fight for them.
We’re glad you’re here. Take a look around our website to learn more about us: what we believe, the people who keep us going (our dynamic staff of one incomparable Nancy Eggen, our board and advisory council), the groups who propel our mission, the generous spirit of those who support us, and what we do and how we come together each week.
We can only make all this happen through the support of our supporters. If the UCM has touched you in any way, I hope you’re moved to support us too. To make a donation, just click one the links to the right. You can make a one-time donation, or become a monthly donor at any level. Please accept our deepest gratitude for your help in keeping the mission and programs of the UCM going.
If we haven’t heard from you lately, drop us a line! Become a fan on Facebook and write on our wall, or stop by Veggie Lunch at noon on any Wednesday during classes. We always welcome new visitors and old friends.
Warmly,
Mana Tahaie
Board president
